Santiago is our newest romaine member to the Vilmorin portfolio. This heart and carton variety is ideal for packing because its compact height allows it to fit better into a bag while limiting mechanical damage, but still provides all the benefits of being a full size romaine. Santiago grows excellent smooth and straight ribs while holding disease resistance to Bremia 7-9 US, TBSV, and Nr:0. This attractive variety is suitable for the front end of Coastal California and very tail end outside of INSV zones.
